FOUNDATION FOR A PATH FORWARD · 2026

Three galas, one growing table, and the record built to match it.

For three consecutive years, Aflak Media has been the crew behind Foundation for a Path Forward's flagship interfaith gathering — recording every keynote, feeding every broadcast wall, and building the photographic record that ends up in government briefings long after the tables are cleared.

What we built, and why it mattered.

01 - OVERVIEW

Foundation for a Path Forward — a national non-profit working in public safety, social cohesion, and community resilience, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C.

CLIENT

An annual, single-evening flagship gala (5–9 PM), with a new theme each year; Aflak has covered all three editions since the series began — a standing, multi-year relationship rather than a one-off booking.

TIMELINE

Event Photography · Speech & Panel Recording · Live Broadcast Feed to LED Media Wall · Testimonial & Interview Capture

SERVICES APPLIED

2-person crew, 3 cameras — a lean footprint built for a room with tight sightlines and dignitary protocol, not a large production unit

TEAM ON GROUND

Breaking Bread | Building Bonds is Foundation for a Path Forward's flagship interfaith and intercultural gathering, held annually at Fraserview Banquet Hall in Vancouver. Each edition brings several hundred faith leaders, Indigenous elders, government officials, frontline workers, and community builders into one room for a shared meal and a hard conversation — 2024's Interfaith Cooperation, 2025's Truth and Reconciliation (600+ guests, 20+ communities), and 2026's Mental Health & Self-Care, expected to draw roughly 1,000 attendees. The guest list regularly includes sitting cabinet ministers, MLAs, MPs, and civic dignitaries alongside grassroots community leaders — a room where the stakes of getting the record right are unusually high.

Aflak's brief has stayed consistent across all three years: record every keynote and panel, feed a live broadcast to the room's LED media wall in real time, and capture the event photographically for use well beyond the night itself — in Foundation for a Path Forward's impact reports, funder updates, and government briefings. What makes the account distinctive isn't the size of the crew; it's the standard the footage has to meet. This is documentation that gets cited, not just posted.

THE CHALLENGE

The real challenge was never "cover the gala." It was producing broadcast-grade, government-briefing-grade documentation, live, with zero room for a second take, inside a room that mixes solemn political dialogue (reconciliation, systemic hate, mental health) with the warmth of a communal dinner. A dropped feed to the LED wall happens in front of a Deputy Premier. A missed keynote is a missed Call to Action. And the footage doesn't just need to look good — it needs to hold up as a factual record when Foundation for a Path Forward uses it to report back to funders like the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia. A two-person, three-camera crew had to be trusted to get all of it right, every year, with a different theme and a different speaker list each time.

How we moved from brief to delivery.

02 - THE APPROACH

Ahead of each edition, Aflak coordinates with Foundation for a Path Forward on that year's theme, confirmed speaker list, and dignitary protocol — camera and audio positions are set around the stage, the LED media wall feed, and the communal dinner floor, with sightlines planned so a lean two-person crew can cover a room built for hundreds without disrupting the room's flow or the speakers' security detail.

01

ROOT · PRE-PRODUCTION

On the night, three cameras run in parallel — one holding the stage for keynotes and panels, one feeding the live broadcast to the LED media wall in real time, and one moving through the room for photography, testimonials, and interview capture during the communal meal. The crew works around a room that includes ministers, MLAs, MPs, Indigenous elders, and faith leaders, all while the room's own rhythm — welcome, keynote, panel, dinner, closing — keeps moving.

02

BLOOM · PRODUCTION

Raw speech and panel recordings — 15+ hours of content per archive to date — are processed into distributable footage that Foundation for a Path Forward has circulated across Canada. Photography is curated down from the day's full take into the 600+ image archive the Foundation now draws on for impact reports and government briefings, long after the hall has emptied.

03

HARVEST · POST-PRODUCTION

04

DISTRIBUTION · FOLLOW THROUGH

The finished material doesn't end at delivery. Foundation for a Path Forward has used Aflak's photography and recordings in funder reporting to bodies like Canadian Heritage and the Province of B.C., and Aflak has returned each year to extend the same record — making Breaking Bread | Building Bonds a growing archive rather than three disconnected shoots.
