Find your property
Five kinds of property. Five different reasons bookings slip.
Pick the one closest to yours. Each answer starts from what guests, planners and visitors ask before they book.
For hotels and resorts
From independent inns to luxury resorts and hotel groups.
| The problem | How we fix it |
|---|---|
| Guests arrive at a different hotel from the one in the video. | We film to true scale and around real service, so the property on screen is the one they walk into. |
| Booking sites host your video and keep the booking. | Every piece carries a direct-booking offer that sends viewers to your own site. |
| Your video shows a couple on a beach. Your bookings are families, dogs and laptops. | We film the guests you actually host, and the features they look for before they book. |
| One commercial lasts two years, then it is out of date. | Monthly content and a modular edit system your team can update in-house. |
| Head office approves it. The operator doesn't recognize it. | We work with both, so the film carries the brand and still feels like your property. |
What we make
- True-scale property film
- Soundscape from your own sound
- Monthly content drops
- Modular video system
- Direct-booking calls to action
- Space photography

For event and wedding venues
| The problem | How we fix it |
|---|---|
| Planners can't book a ballroom from beauty shots. | A planner video with dimensions, AV, lighting and layouts on screen, room by room. |
| Couples can't picture their day in an empty room. | A wedding film that shows the room set, lit and full. |
| Every booking needs a site visit. | A 360° virtual tour that answers the walkthrough questions before anyone travels. |
What we make
- Planner video
- 360° virtual tour
- Configuration photography
- Wedding and corporate event films
- Interior FPV fly-through
For attractions
Galleries, museums, parks, ski hills, golf courses and aquariums.
| The problem | How we fix it |
|---|---|
| Your content shows one season, or an empty site. | Seasonal content with real visitors, refreshed through the year. |
| Visitors can't tell how long a visit takes, how far they will walk or whether it works for their family. | Walkthrough films and tours that show the route, the timings, and the accessibility and family features on screen. |
| One launch video, then silence. | An always-on feed that keeps the attraction in front of people between seasons. |
What we make
- Seasonal content bank
- Walkthrough films and 360° tours
- Family and accessibility content
- Drone aerials
For tours and experiences
| The problem | How we fix it |
|---|---|
| The guide is the product. Then the guide moves on. | Guide portraits filmed as swappable inserts, so the content outlasts any one season's team. |
| Guests can't picture the route, the pace or the group size. | True-scale route films with drone, with duration and distance on screen. |
| Booking platforms take a margin on every seat. | Direct-booking offers written into every piece. |
What we make
- Route films with drone
- Modular guide portraits
- Vertical shorts
- Direct-booking calls to action
For tourism boards and destination organizations
| The problem | How we fix it |
|---|---|
| Destination films that could be anywhere. | Films built on the people, culture and neighbourhoods that make the place itself. |
| One campaign a year, and member businesses left out. | A modular content bank your members can use in their own marketing. |
| Funders and councils ask for proof. | A source-labelled impact report, the same approach we built for Strawberry Festival. |
What we make
- Destination film
- Local guide series
- Member content bank
- Impact reporting

Where hotel video goes wrong
-
The problem
Wide lenses stretch the property. Rooms look larger and the beach looks closer than it is.
How we fix it
Filmed to true scale.
The layout on screen is the layout guests walk. Distances and room sizes read honestly, before anyone arrives.
-
The problem
Empty hallways in perfect light show a showroom, not a hotel.
How we fix it
Directed by the people who know your guests.
Before we film, we interview your front desk, housekeeping and guest-facing staff. What guests ask, where they go and why they come back shapes every shot.
-
The problem
Content too polished to trust sets up a disappointment at check-in.
How we fix it
What's on screen is what guests get.
Real-feel films, professionally directed and lit, close the gap between the ad and the arrival.
-
What you get instead
The hotel they saw. The hotel they get.
- True scaledistances that read honestly
- Real servicedirected by your own staff's insight
- Your soundrecorded on the property, not a stock track
Same room. Two lenses.
Drag to compare a wide-angle brochure frame with a true-scale frame of the same room.
Use the left and right arrow keys to compare the two frames. Real frames replace this render as partner work clears.
Hear the difference.
A stock track over the lobby, then the lobby's own sound: the fountain, the doors, the low hum of the room.
The commission leak
Booking sites host your video. Then they keep the booking.
Every stay booked through a third party costs a commission, commonly 15–25%. We write a direct-booking offer into the call to action of every piece, so a viewer who finds you on a booking site has a reason to book with you.
What the leak looks like at a typical Canadian property

Beyond the brochure
The guests, planners and years most hotel video leaves out.
The missing guests
The problem
Your video shows a couple with a glass of wine. Your bookings are families, dogs, laptops and wheelchairs.
How we fix it
We film the guests you host and the features they check before booking: kids' amenities, pet rooms, fast Wi-Fi and co-working, ramps and lifts. Sustainability is shown, not claimed: the local producers, the waste handling, the people caring for the land around you.
What we make
- Family and pet stays
- Working stays
- Accessibility on screen
- Captions on every version
- Sustainability micro-documentary
The planner's question
The problem
Planners can't book from beauty shots.
How we fix it
A planner video documents each event room in the terms planners check: usable dimensions, capacity, AV, lighting and layouts. Wedding and corporate booking films come out of the same production.
What we make
- Planner video
- Wedding and corporate event films
- 360° virtual tour
- Configuration photography
Ballroom A
- 390 m² (4,200 sq ft)
- 320 theatre · 240 banquet
- 6 m ceiling

The expiring asset
The problem
One commercial lasts two years, then it's spent. Or it still features a bartender who left last spring.
How we fix it
A modular video system. Staff are filmed as swappable inserts, offers and dates sit on their own layers, and a monthly content drop keeps the feed moving. Change a call to action in-house, without commissioning a new edit.
What we make
- Monthly content drops
- Modular video system
- Swappable staff inserts
- Organized asset library
Change the offer. Keep the film.
Franchise property? We work with the operator and head office together, so the film carries the brand and still feels like your hotel.

Questions
Questions owners and planners ask
Will our guests be on camera?
Only with their consent. We schedule around guest flow, film staff or guests who agree to appear, and collect a signed release from anyone identifiable before the footage is used.
Can you work to our brand standards?
Yes. We work from your brand guidelines and, for franchise properties, with the operator and head office together, so the content clears brand review and still feels like your property.
Do you work outside Vancouver?
Yes. Aflak Studios works across Canada, from offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. Travel to your property is scoped into the engagement.
Who owns the footage?
Every engagement includes a usage licence for your own channels, with paid-ad use on larger engagements. Where you need it, you can extend the licence or buy the edited work outright.
Do you work as a hotel digital marketing agency or hospitality ad agency, and run the ads?
We are a studio first, and yes. For partners who want one team on the creative and the spend, we plan, launch and test paid media across Meta, TikTok and YouTube, with direct-booking offers built into every ad. Tourism boards and operators can bring us in as their tourism media buying partner on the same terms.
Are you a luxury hotel marketing agency?
We are a studio, and luxury properties are where true scale matters most. A guest paying for the view expects to find it, and a guest paying for the suite expects it to be the size it looked.
What about our restaurants and bars?
Hotel restaurants and bars are covered by our food and beverage work, often in the same production. See food and beverage →
How fast is delivery?
Within 48 hours of the production day, as standard, for films, shorts and photographs.
Is Aflak a hospitality marketing agency or a production company?
Not a production company. A perception studio. Aflak Studios plans, films and delivers the work, and manages the paid media where you want it: one scope, one lead, one invoice.
What happens after delivery?
Two check-ins at no charge. A feedback session at 3–4 weeks, and a reception review at 2–4 months to look at what the work moved.
Let's start with your property.
